Genre-specific awards were also given out, with Taylor Swift winning Best Pop, Eminem taking home Best Hip-Hop for his song “Houdini”, and SZA winning Best R&B for her song “Snooze”.

In addition to these awards, the VMAs also recognized excellence in technical and creative categories. Billie Eilish won Video for Good for her song “What Was I Made For (From the Motion Picture Barbie)”, while Taylor Swift and Post Malone won Best Direction for their song “Fortnight”.
