Miva Open University Recognizes TETFund’s Echono with EduTech Award for Excellence

In recognition of his contributions to the advancement of education technology, the Vice Chancellor of Miva Open University, Prof. Tayo Arulosun, presented the “Startup Abuja EduTech Award of Excellence 2024” to TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny S.T. Echono.
Launched in May 2023, Miva Open University is an innovative, fully digital institution licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC). With over 2,700 students and a faculty of more than 200, Miva provides a flexible, world-class curriculum across programs like Computer Science, Business Management, Economics, and an MBA launched recently.
Through a cutting-edge approach to Open and Distance Learning (ODL), Miva is transforming Nigeria’s educational landscape by removing barriers like finances and prior learning requirements, bringing tertiary education closer to aspiring students nationwide.
This award underscores the alignment between TETFund’s mission and Miva’s pioneering model, with both parties working to increase access to quality education for Nigerians.
