Chairman of APC Benue State, Comrade Agada, Commends Prof. Utsev for His Transformative Efforts in Water Provision and Free Medical Outreach in Zone C

Comrade Austin Agada, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, has expressed profound appreciation for the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev, lauding his firm dedication to ameliorating the water challenges faced by Nigerian citizens.

In an official statement, Comrade Agada highlighted that within a mere one and a half years in office, Prof. Utsev has exhibited exemplary leadership by initiating and overseeing the construction of numerous water schemes and dams nationwide. These monumental projects have significantly enhanced access to clean and safe water, thereby uplifting the sanitation standards across the country.

The APC Chairman particularly extolled the Minister for the ongoing water projects in Benue State, notably the Ugbema-Gboko Water Project. He also acknowledged the concerted efforts directed towards the construction of solar-powered boreholes across Zone C, with simultaneous operations spanning the nine local governments in the area. These initiatives are poised to substantially alleviate the water scarcity issues that have long plagued the region.

Furthermore, Comrade Agada expressed his gratitude to Prof. Utsev for incorporating the Otukpo Multipurpose Dam into this year’s budget. He conveyed optimism that upon completion, the dam will cater to the water needs of thousands of residents in Otukpo and its environs, bolster irrigation farming, and facilitate hydropower generation in Zone C, thereby markedly enhancing the livelihoods of the local populace.

In addition to his commendable infrastructural endeavors, the Honourable Minister’s initiative to provide free medical treatment in Zone C has been met with widespread acclaim. Comrade Agada described this gesture as a testament to Prof. Utsev’s altruistic nature and his unwavering commitment to the well-being of his constituents.

The free medical outreach has already yielded significant benefits, with thousands receiving treatment for various ailments, over 250 surgeries conducted, and approximately 500 free eye glasses distributed, alongside medications worth millions of Naira administered to patients.

Assuring the residents of Zone C, Comrade Agada emphasized that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, alongside Honourable Minister Prof. Utsev and other distinguished Benue sons appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are collaboratively working to attract and implement projects that are inherently people-oriented, aiming to significantly improve the lives of the people in the Zone.
