Igede Youth Council Denounces Claims of Otukpo-Oju Road Construction
15th January 2025
The Igede Youth Council (IYC) has strongly refuted recent claims by Mr. Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, spokesperson for the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District. The council dismissed the assertion that construction work is ongoing on the Otukpo-Oju road as a constituency project, labeling it as misleading and baseless.
According to the IYC, the Otukpo-Oju road remains in a deplorable state, with no visible signs of ongoing construction activities. The council emphasized that the road’s condition speaks volumes and leaves no room for misrepresentation.
Comrade Andyson Iji Egbodo, President of the Igede Youth Council, called for transparency and honesty in the reporting of constituency projects. He criticized the use of false claims, noting that such actions undermine public trust and shift focus away from pressing infrastructural needs.
The council expressed its commitment to holding leaders accountable and fostering dialogue to address the region’s challenges. It urged leaders to prioritize meaningful development projects that would improve the lives of constituents.
Ambassador Smith Akoko, National Secretary of the Igede Youth Council, reiterated the council’s dedication to ensuring truthfulness in governance. He called on citizens to remain vigilant and informed, while assuring them of the council’s continued advocacy for infrastructure and development in the region.
The statement further emphasized the importance of transparency and constructive engagement between leaders and constituents, advocating for collective efforts to bring tangible progress to Benue South.
